May 2014 empties

Hi everyone. Today is this months empties post. I have hardly used anything up this month, which is a shame, but hey ho, hopefully next month will be better. As you can probably tell from the picture above, I finally finished off this HUGE tub of body butter from Philosophy. It was beautiful and very luxurious feeling when I applied to the skin. It had a very feminine yet gentle fragrance and I really enjoyed using it. So would highly recommend you purchasing this.
Next up was a shower gel from L'Occitane. This was very fresh and citrussy smelling. It was nice but didn't tend to lather up very much and so I ended up using far more than I would do normally. I don't think I would repurchase this as it is quite expensive for the larger size bottle.
The Urban Decay make up setting spray was a great product and did help to keep my make up in place for a good while longer than if I hadn't used a setting spray. I wont be repurchasing it for the foreseeable future as I do prefer my Mac Fix Plus.

Last of all I finished this shampoo and conditioner which were really good for my hair and left it really feeling good, healthy and shiny which I so need for my weak brittle hair.

So, that is it for this months empties, I am sorry it isn't such a long post like I normally do but I will try harder through June to get through more products and reduce my collection down.

Till next time.

I've Been Tagged

Hi everyone. I hope you are well. I decided to do another tag today, as I really enjoy reading others tag posts and I love to write them as I feel that it is a fantastic way for my readers to just get to know me a little better. So here goes,

1) What is your favourite season and why?
When I was younger it used to be winter as I loved to wrap up warm, and snuggle on the sofa, with a good book whilst the snow was falling outside. But now since my illness, if there is the slightest bit of damp or cold, my body just cant take it and so end up in a lot of pain. So I adore Spring and Summer now, as the sunshine make me feel so much better and my bones don't ache and hurt so much.

2) If money were no object where would you travel and why?
I would definitely go back to New York, my most favourite place in the world. I would live there if I could as there is just so much to see and do. I have been twice before and both times I did not want to come home. The shops are amazing, the food is fantastic and the people are just the friendliest people you could ever meet.

3)What is your favourite TV Series?
As I don't watch hardly an tv anymore, I just watch You Tube videos, the series that I used to watch over and over was Sex and The City. I love Sarah Jessica Parker, and wish I were more like her. I have all the dvds and the films. They make you laugh and they make you cry. The characters really draw you in and make you feel like you are a part of it.

4)Coffee or tea?
During the day definitely coffee. As soon as I wake up, I have to have a coffee otherwise I am like a bear with a sore head, and am grouchy until I have had my first shot of caffeine. But at night I like to relax and have a cup of Herbal Tea.

5)What makes you happiest?
Being with my son. Having cuddles with him, and making him happy and content makes me happy and gives me peace that I am doing a good job at raising him as a single mom.

6)What 3 things can't you leave the house without?
My purse, my phone and my umberella. I hate not having my umberella, because living in the UK you know there is an 80% chance of rain most days, so it is better to be prepared I think. I cant be without my phone ever and it is like an extra limb for me, I feel lost without it, and rely on it for a huge amount of things.

7)What is your favourite topic to blog about?
All things beauty related. I am totally addicted to make up and so proud of my collection and so it gives me great joy when I am helping people find great products to purchase and recommending different things to suit different people.

8)If you could be any animal what would you be?
I think I would be some kind of bird, because you can fly high in the sky and get to see different things in different countries and fee free.

9)What is your favourite music to listen to?
My favourite singer ever is Celine Dion ( I have written a blog post in the past about my addiction to Celine) but I have quite an eclectic mix of favourites from Beyonce, to Justin Timberlake to Elton John and Kylie Minogue.

10) What is your favourite procrastination activity?
Definitely You Tube videos. If there is anything that will stop me from blogging it is definitely You Tube. There are just so many amazing channels to watch that I can easily turn a 5 minute viewing into a 2 hour viewing.

I hope you have enjoyed this post, and I tag everyone of you reading this to do this tag and post it on your own blogs.

A night at the WWE

I don't think many people know that as well as being a beauty addict and collector, I am a HUGE fan of the WWE and have been for 22 years. I have loved them since I was 15 years of age, and have been to see there shows live 6 times now, more so since having my little boy as he now loves them too.

I think it is just the excitement and the storylines and the different wrestlers that really have me hooked and have done since the days of Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, and Bret "The Hitman" Hart, till now with the likes of John Cena, Daniel Bryan, and CM Punk. When I was 16 and doing my GCSE English exam, I did a piece of coursework all about the WWE and got an A for the piece of work.

But there is nothing like seeing those Superstars live, the excitement, and the adrenaline rush from chanting the names of the ones you want to win, and screaming out loud and booing when the baddies come out, that it is just one of the best nights of the year. Even my partner says that I am the bigger kid out of the three of them, when we go to see the shows. I just dont see that there is any point in going to a show, and just sitting in the chair and not even clapping when a match has finished. I mean, the tickets aren't cheap, so why waste your money if you are not going to get involved and show your appreciation for the wrestlers who are working hard to impress you with their skills.

You would think that it would be just little kids in the audiences but you get every walk of life in there, even little old grannies with their walking sticks cheering and shouting along with the best of them.
That is a picture of me and Daniel, with his sheep mask on, before the show started. His favourite group of wrestlers at the moment are called The Wyatts and the one wrestler wears a sheep mask and so that is what I bought him this time, and he loves to scare me with it as I hate masks like that.
I love this photo of me and Daniel minutes before the show started. When they do the countdown from 10 and the lights start to flash and the music comes on, it is amazing and I get goosebumps every time. One of the wrestlers walked just in front of me and I was just so shocked that I got that near to him.
Daniel was so very lucky that this time, he got high fived by 2 wrestlers and the smile on his face and the excitement that just came from him, made the effort in trying to get tickets so worthwhile. I shouted to one of my favourite wrestlers Dolph Ziggler, just as he was about to go back through the curtain and he turned right round and pointed at me, I was so shocked and thrilled that he heard me, and that is a memory I will cherish forever.

Overall the night was just amazing and I will be booking up again for November and it cant come round quick enough for me. Below, I have posted some photos of the night and I really hope you have enjoyed my little peek into my love for the WWE.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette Review

I have so been looking forward to reviewing this for you, and having this in my collection. I had been watching YouTubers and bloggers raving about this product for ages, and the whole palette just looked beautiful and really something that I knew I would wear over and over again as it had so many neutral shade that I love to use.
Isn't the case just so pretty and classy. The case is made of tin and so is great to take on holiday as the shadows are protected so well.
Just look at all those beautiful shades. I love that the shade names are all chocolate related colours. Once opening the case, it is so lovely because a strong waft of cocoa immediately hits the senses, so if you love chocolate, this will definitely be a hit for you. All the eye shadows have a trace of cocoa included in them and that is why the whole palette smells so chocolatey.

The only downside to this palette is that the names of the shades are only written on the back of the cardboard cover and the plastic sheet inside the case. I prefer to have them embossed under the shadows but that is only a minor thing and so does not detract from my love for this stunning palette. Some of my favourite shades to use are Black Forest Truffle, Marzipan, Salted Caramel (this is a great shade to put in the crease to blend out with) and Hazelnut. There are matte shades, shimmer shades and shades with tiny pieces of glitter and so everyone will find an eye shadow that they really like in this palette.

These shadows are buttery soft, with hardly any fallout, they are easy to blend and are packed with pigmentation. They make any eye shadow look, whether it is simply a one shade look or an intricate four colour look so easy to do. In looking at the swatches below, hopefully you will see how pigmented the shadows are.
Row 1 Swatches
Row 2 Swatches
Row 3 Swatches

I found this beauty on Ebay and bought it for £36. Yes, I can all hear you shout that it is expensive, but when you see that there are 16 different shades then I really think it is a total bargain and a must for every beauty addicts collection.

I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you have this palette, what your favourite shades are.

L'Oreal True Match Foundation Review

Beauty Lovers!! Please behold a fantastic product. It is the L'Oreal True Match Foundation. I think this is a true hidden gem in the stands of the drugstore. To many it just looks like a normal foundation, but this really gives your skin a really beautiful and flawless look.

It comes in a glass bottle which is not the best for travel, as there is always the risk of having the bottle smash whilst travelling. But you could always wrap it up in some thing to protect it, and prevent this from happening. This foundation comes in 22 different shades and is suitable for people with warm skin tones, neutral and cool skin tones. So I am positive that everybody would find a colour to match their skin. It is £9.99 which I thunk is about mid range for a drugstore foundation.

The foundation does get dispensed from a pump which I love as it annoys me when foundations dont have a pump as I always end up using far too much, where with the pump I can control how much I want. I use 2 pumps and find this plenty for the whole face.

To apply, I have tried using my fingers, the Real Techniques sponge, and the Sigma F80 foundation brush and with every method the foundation just applies fantastically. It does not go streaky and just blends like a dream.

I have had this foundation in my collection for a while, and had just not go round to reviewing it. I will always have it in my beauty stash because it is just a fabulous foundation. If you just cant decide which foundation to wear, then it is normally this one that I turn to, and it has been my go to for the past couple of weeks.

I wear the lightest shade in Ivory, and find it is a little on the light side for me but I then just add blush, and bronzer to deepen my make up look just a little. I prefer to look lighter than darker. The foundation I feel is a medium coverage but can be built up to really give you a fuller coverage. It isn't totally a matte finish but does give your skin a healthy look, and to keep my skin looking matte I always powder my T Zone to keep the oil at bay.

I love this foundation, and hope you have enjoyed this review. Let me know in the comments if you have tried this foundation and what you think of it.

The Reading Tag

Hi everyone. I saw this on Aimee Belle Blog and I knew just straight away that I had to do this reading tag. As most of you will know I am an avid book reader and there is nothing I like better than to be settled down in a comfy chair, a nice cup of coffee and while away the hours with a good book. I am part of a book club on Twitter and like the website Goodreads too as it really gives you some fantastic ideas for new books to read.

So, onto the tag, and if you enjoy this post please let me know if you do this on your own blog, so that I can make sure to pop along and read your answers too.

1) Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
No, I read anywhere. In bed of a morning or evening. On the bus on the way to and from work. In the kitchen whilst I am cooking dinner, in the garden on a nice, warm, sunny day. If I have a spare minute and I am not next to my laptop you will find me reading.

2) Bookmark or a piece of paper?
Well, to be honest I read mostly off my Kindle now and so don't need a bookmark or something to keep my place, but if ever I do read an actual book, then I just use whatever is close at hand, whether that be an actual book mark or the newest Chinese menu takeaway list. They all come in useful.

3) Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter or a certain number of pages?
I can just stop whenever I want to. I never put limitations on myself.

4) Do you eat or drink whilst reading?
Yes, I'm almost always drinking a cup of coffee whilst I am reading, and I do like to eat a nice piece of cake if I have some in the house.

5)Do you watch TV or listen to music while reading?
No, I don't tend to like to have any other distractions while reading, so that I can get fully engrossed in the plot and storyline of the book I am reading.

6) One book at a time or several all at once?
Oh my goodness, definitely just one book at a time otherwise I would end up all confused and not knowing who was who and what was going on in each of the books. I am easily muddled up and so I like to keep things nice and straightforward so that my mind can cope.

7) Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Definitely silently in my head. I only read out loud if there is a certain passage that I just cant seem to understand, and then I read it out slowly to see if I can understand it more that way.

8) Do you ever read ahead or skip pages?
No, never. It would spoil it then and you would not need to finish the book if you already knew how it ended. I like to read the whole book from start to finish.

9) Breaking the spine or keeping it new?
If I am reading an actual physical spine, then I do like to break the spine as I don't like new books as they never seem to stay open on the page you are on. So I like an older book as it holds its shape more.

10) Do you write in your books?
No, I don't. I don't like it when books are written in.I think it spoils them, I like to keep them just the way they are. If I need to make notes or highlight quotes that I like, I just write them in a note pad.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Till next time.

What's In My Travel Make up Bag?

Hi everyone. Tomorrow I am off on a little break with Daniel and my parents to the beach for a week. Now in the UK we are not granted with fabulous weather, but come rain or shine I am determined  to make the most of my precious time with him. I am hoping the sun is going to be shining all week and I wont need to wear full coverage make up but as I am typing this, it is absolutely pouring down and cold as anything so it doesn't look good .

The make up bag, I purchased ages ago when the Wonderwoman collection from Mac came out, and it is a really good size apart from that my Make Up Geek eye shadow palette wont fit in but hey ho.
I love these shadows, so pigmented and buttery soft to apply. I am definitely going to be ordering more in the future.
I love the Urban Decay make up brushes and they are perfect for applying my eyeshadows.

At the moment I am loving the L'Oreal True Match foundation, and so that is the one I am going to take with me to the caravan.
Don't mind the messy lid, at least you know I'm using it, right?!?

Eye primer is essential for me to use every single day as my eyelids are super oily, and no eye shadow stays on them with the help of a primer and so my choice is Mac's Soft Ochre. I love this one because it is yellow toned and so cancels out any blue/purple tones to my skin.
My mascara is one I found in my drawer and one I remember stating in one of my past blog posts that I was going to make more of an effort to use up and that is the Almay Get Up and Grow mascara.
My lipstick is one that I have only just received in this months Glossybox, and that is the B. lipstick in Flamingo. I think it will be perfect for travelling with, because I just want to apply it and go, and not have to worry about using lip liners and glosses and making sure it isn't on my teeth. So a moisturising lip balmy type one is just perfect for my trip.
My concealer is my Maybelline Fit Me concealer. It is fantastic at covering my dark circles up, which I do suffer from quite badly as I don't tend to sleep very well.
My perfume for this trip is going to be my Estee Lauder's Sensuous Nude. I have had this perfume for quite a while, nearly a year in fact but have hardly used it, So want to rectify this over the next couple of days.
Ooops, nearly forgot to tell you about my blush. I adore this little pot of gorgeousness. I have used this for weeks and have hit serious pannage and I love the colour it gives me and so I will be so gutted when I have finished it.
Then to complete my make up look, I am taking my Mac Fix Plus, because this is brilliant at keeping all my make up in one place and not just fading away after a few hours.

Well, that is it for this post, I hope you have enjoyed it and let me know in the comments what you take in your make up bag to travel with.

OOTD#6: "follow the yellow brick road"

I must admit, I'm getting a little braver with these OOTD posts. This is no 6!!!when there was a time when I wouldn't have even have dreamt I would do one. I am a huge lover of the film "The Wizard Of Oz" and so when I saw this tshirt on Ebay, I just knew I had to have it in my collection. And for the meagre price of £12.99 I thought it was a bargain, and the material is that nice thick cotton, so you know it will wash and wear well. I hate it when you buy clothes online, and they just are not of the quality that you thought it would be, too thin that you know that the print will rub off within a couple of washes.

I have washed and worn this tshirt 3 or 4 times now and there is not even a tiny part of the print starting to peel away from the fabric and so I am very impressed. My Converse All Stars are literally stars of my shoe wardrobe as they are the most worn pair of footwear I own. They are comfy yet stylish and that is so important with my arthritic feet and toes.

I'm sorry that all I seem to wear is my jeggings but, what can I say, they are just fantastic. and really help to slimline my figure down, which I most definitely need .

I hope you have liked this OOTD and I will try to aim to do another one in the near future.

Glossybox May 2014

Hi everyone. Most of you out in the beauty community will know already that Superdrug have been celebrating the fantastic news that they have reached the grand old age of 50. This has been an amazing event where a lot of the beauty brands have redesigned a product that they normally sell, in a way so that they can help Superdrug celebrate with a limited edition packaging or product.

Glossybox have also joined in in the celebrations, with a specially designed box, and bright pink tissue paper protecting the products. Its really beautiful, and i love the design.
It comes with the normal booklet and leaflet. Inside this months little booklet it has an interview with a make up artist, a look back through 50 years of Superdrug, and a peek into how beauty has evolved through time. It also gives you a list of the top 5 essential products that you will need for Summer.
Then when I opened the tissue paper and saw what was in this months box, I think I squealed out loud. The products were FANTASTIC!!!
First up, I already love the Vaseline Spray and go body lotion. It is a beautiful easy product to use. You just spray, quickly rub in and it just melts into the skin like a dream, and the smell, well, it is gorgeous. If you like the smell of chocolate, then you will love this. Plus, it is a full size product. Fantastic!!!
Next up is a sample of a new Ghost perfume that I had not even heard of. It is called Ghost Eclipse. It is sweet, and citrussy smelling and is a beautiful smell. I have already put it on my wishlist for Xmas. If you like Dolce and Gabbana's Light Blue, you will love this.

It says on the leaflet that it is fruity/floral, but I dont agree with that at all. But, nevertheless it is still a beautiful perfume that lasted a good 4/5 hours where people were asking me what I was wearing.

Next out of the box was another full size product, and I had been wanting to try this for a good few weeks but because I had put myself on a no buy, I refrained from getting it and that is the new Max Factor face primer.
I was so pleased to get this.

Then, I saw that there was an eye liner from the brand GOSH. I dont own a lot of things from this brand so I was pleased to get this in my Glossybox. I had the colour "Blueberry Ice" and it is a gorgeous lilac/silvery/blue shade and I cant wait to see if I can make some really pretty summery looks with it.
Next to get pulled out of the box, is a product that I do already own, but it is good to get back ups of products that you know you love as you already use them and that is the cult favourite Maybelline Great lash Mascara. I love this mascara, as it really gives you those False Lash look lashes and the trick I have found is not to let the coats dry in between each one. Just keep layering the mascara until you get the desired look. I find three coats gives really great volume and definition, and does not clump too which is another added bonus.
Now a brand that I have never tried is Superdrug's own brand B. I have seen it on the shelves but never felt inclined enough to purchase anything and so to recieve a lipstick in the box from this brand was great. That's what I love about Glossybox so much is that you get to try brands and discover products that you may not have tried before.

The shade I got was "Flamingo" and it is a soft pink/coral shade which is just perfect for this time of year. As you can see from the swatch it isnt a full coverage lipstick but is quite sheer in its opacity but really leaves your lips feeling very moisturised with just a delicate flush of colour. Really impressed with this and may even purchase other colours in the range as it just feels so lovely whilst wearing it.

Then the last thing in the box is a sachet of the Garnier Oil Beauty Lotion. To be fair when I saw this and saw the word "oil", I thought oh no, because I don't tend to like oils. But this is for the body and NOT for the face and so I'm going to test it out and just see whether I like it or not.
This box is a definite HIT and I am so impressed with all the products. If you have been on the fence about ordering from Glossybox, I so would recommend them highly as the value for money is just phenomenal. Great job Glossybox!!
