Stila In The Light Palette Review

This In The Light palette from Stila has been in my collection for quite a while, and is very well loved as you can see from the packaging. I would say that the packaging is the only downside to the palette because once you have touched the cardboard packaging with hands that have been applying other products, the marks do appear on the packaging very quickly and they are very hard to remove. In this palette, you get 10 eyeshadows, ranging from neutrals, to colours that are perfect for a smoky eye look, and a black smudgestick, perfect for creating a beautiful opaque black line, on either your actual upper lash line or in your waterline.

The palette is fantastic for travel, as it is so slim and compact and light so takes up no room in any travel make up bag. The actual shadows are fantastic, and so buttery smooth when you tap the brush into the product. The shadows, especially the darker shades have quite a lot of fall out when you apply them onto the eyes and so I have found that if you just gently pat the shadow onto the lid rather than trying to brush the colour on tends to work better and apply more smoothly. Below are some swatches of the actual shadows.

As you can see all of the shadows are extremely pigmented, and swatch beautifully. They also blend out beautifully without disappearing away into nothing which sometimes happens when you blend certain shadows. The palette has 3 matte shades and 7 shimmery shades, and so with this palette you can do a whole eye look, which is great because a lot of palettes don't include any matte colours for the crease and for the highlight colour. But this is all included in this Stila palette. It retails at the moment for £25 which I think is fantastic for the amount of shadows you get, plus the eyeliner.
The shades Kitten, Gilded Gold and Night Sky are some of my favourites to use in this palette. This Stila palette can be purchased online and in various department stores. I hope you have enjoyed this review, please let me know if you have tried any Stila products that you think I need to check out next time I go beauty shopping.

Love and Hugs.

  1. Lovely post, I love it when eyeshadows are swatched and not just photographed as you can see what they look like on the skin. I must admit, these wouldn't be my particular favourite shades as they are quite cool toned and I tend to do more warm tones but they do look quite nice swatched! :)
