March 2015 Beauty Favourites

This months favourites feature some products that I have had for years, and a few that I have only had for a week but am totally in love with. Normally I only include products that I have used for a good long time, and that I know are tried and trusted and give fantastic results every time I use them. My first absolute favourite is the Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Body Souffle. This product is absolutely beautiful. It is a thick cream, that does really moisturise and feels extremely luxurious when I am applying it onto my skin. The fragrance is just delicious, if you love anything that smells like vanilla and caramel, then you will love this cream. I will be using this everyday and will probably repurchase this as soon as I run out, as I love it that much.
I, along with many other bloggers and vloggers have really been loving the trend of off white, very pale nail colours, and the one that I reapplied the most last month to keep up with the trend was Zoya's Shay. It is a cream/champagne pearlescent colour and really looks nice and neutral for an everyday manicured look. I purchased this off Ebay and I am really glad I did as I just know I will be painting my nails with this again very soon.

Everyone has been raving about how good the new L'Oreal Infallible matte foundation is, and so on checking my foundation collection, I found my old bottle of L'Oreal Infallible (the original formula) and began to wear it again, and WOW!! I love the effect it gives my skin, really makes it look flawless and smooth and I have recieved a lot of compliments from my customers saying how flawless my skin looks, which is always nice to hear.
I am always on the lookout for a new concealer, and I finally after weeks of thinking about it, purchased the new Urban Decay Naked concealer. I have used it 3 times and I fell in love with it. For me, it feels just like the Mac Prolongwear concealer, except it is just easier to use as it comes with a doe foot applicator, instead of the messy pump that the Mac concealer has. The Naked concealer gives fantastic coverage and really blends out beautifully.
My last favourite was the NYC Sunny bronzer. I have really been going for a bronzey cheeked look, and this Sunny bronzer is so nice and blends out beautifully, never looking muddy, and sometimes I have even used it as a cheek contour to give my face a more defined look.

Those were my top 5 products of the last month. I hope you have enjoyed reading this post, and let me know in the comments what have been your top products that you have been loving lately.

March 2015 Empties

Yet again this month I have really tried hard to work through my stash of beauty products and try to make more space in my storage for newer products. As you can see I have managed to get through a good amount of products and will be able to,yet again make a good payment off my bills. Right onto my empties. First up is the Oral B mouthwash which retails for £3.99
It is a very good mouthwash but won't repurchase as I really prefer the Sensodyne Pronamel mouthwashes. Next up I finally finished the Soap and Glory Orangeasm, which I have been using for months. It is a huge bottle, 500mls in fact and I got it in the Soap and Glory Special box set a couple of weeks before Christmas, and has lasted me 3/4 months. I would totally repurchase any Soap and Glory products and at £6.50, is fantastic value for money.
This past month I have totally been on a hair colourant kick. I am trying desperately to get rid of the black that is finally growing out, and I have been torn between dying my hair a vivid purple shade or a bright red. So at first I tried the Live XXL colour in Ultra Violet, RRP £5.49
This really did not show up and I was not happy with the effect that it gave and so then decided on the Garnier Olia hair colourant in Red, RRP £5.59
This was much better and have since purchased a hair colourant from Casting in Cherry Red, and this has really given me a lot of compliments from my friends and family on my hair, and so I am finally happy with the colour, so you can expect this in future months empties blog posts. I have been trying to work through my Yankee Candle collection as it had grown way too big, and really I wont need another candle until at least late summer. The candle I finished this month was the delicious sweet smelling Fireside Treats. It is such a gorgeous fragrance and definitely will be on my list to repurchase later in the year. I spent £8.99 on this small candle.

YES!! I finished another perfume, which was in my Finish 5 by Cinco de Mayo challenge. Marc Jacob's Daisy is a beautiful fresh, floral scent and I loved wearing this, I will definitely repurchase this in the future, RRP £37.99
Hand creams are not something I tend to use but this month I finished up a Crabtree and Evelyn hand cream in the fragrance Tarocca Orange, with Eucalyptus and Sage. It was only a small 25g tube and so got used up pretty quickly. The smell was beautiful and really did leave my hands feeling velvety smooth. RRP £4.50, would I repurchase? I don't think I would due to the fact, I just don't tend to use hand creams all that often, but it is a beautiful product.
A shampoo I finished was the Charles Worthington Moisture Seal, RRP £5.99. It is a very nice shampoo but I won't be repurchasing just due to the fact that I have since purchased more shampoos. I know, I should not be buying more, as I have some in my stash, but I guess I am just not going to get used to not purchasing overnight.
I finished a foundation which was the amazing Estee Lauder Double Wear, RRP £29.50 I love this foundation and I was sad to finish it, but I have plenty to work through and the foundation I am currently slowly working on is the Benefit's Hello Flawless, which just does not seem to be going down.
I finished a sample of Estee Lauder Sumptuous  Mascara, RRP £4.49 which was a really nice mascara and I would recommend if you want  full looking lashes. The brush was a natural bristled brush and really clung to the lashes and gave great lift to them too. I love my eyelashes to look really dramatic and this mascara really impressed me.
Now you all know how much I loved the Victoria's Secret Dreamy Vanilla body lotion. I LOVED this product and would definitely repurchase as it smelled so good. I applied it in the morning after my shower, and then when I was getting changed for bed in the evening I could still smell it on my skin, which really impressed me. I paid £5.50 for this big tube, which is a great price for a fantastic product. The lotion sank straight into the skin without leaving any sticky residue too.
I finally finished the Clean and Clear moisturiser which I have been using on and off for 18 months. To be honest I would not repurchase as I really didnt think it did much too my skin and I would rather try out a new moisturiser. The Clean and Clear dual action moisturiser retails for £2.00.
Last but not least was a Colgate Max White toothpaste, RRP £4.50 I really did enjoy this toothpaste, but as you know I am not picky about my toothpastes and just tend to buy whatever is on offer at the time of purchase.
So, that is all the products I managed to work my way through this month. A grand total of 13 products and the amount I have saved is (drum roll please) ........... A massive £125.13!!! So this will be another amount taken off my bills. I am pleased with how I am doing. although I have been spending again, but hopefully can reign it back in a little and keep focused on the end goal, which is to reduce clutter and pay off bills quicker.

I hope you have enjoyed this post, and look forward to talking to you all again very soon.

GRWM: An Everyday Make Up Look feat Benefit, Bourjois, Mac,and Maybelline

I haven't written a Get Ready With Me post in a long while and so today, I thought I would change all that. When it comes to work make up, I tend to most of the time, try to keep it quick and simple as I just have not got the time, to be experimenting with new eyeshadows and blush and lip combos, and so I tend to stick to products that I know are consistent and make me look vaguely presentable for the day ahead. I know that you are supposed to in theory, do your eye make up first, before the foundation stage to prevent the shadow fallout ruining your foundation, but I do it the other way around. I just have always done it this way, and it tends to always work out alright, I just powder any excess shadow fall out off my cheeks, and hey ho, the foundation looks okay again. So, on with my GRWM. First up, using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, I apply the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation all over my face taking care to pay special attention to around the hair line and the jaw line to make sure that it is all blended nicely and no "lines" left.
This is quite a thick foundation and really gives good coverage, and I even apply a very thin layer of this over my dark circles as a kind of concealer under my eyes. I do have to set it with the Laura Mercier Secret brightening powder so that it does not crease and give me the look of extra wrinkles, that I really do not need.

I love this powder so much. It is amazing and if you have not already tried it, you NEED it in your life. It is so finely milled, and you just need a tiny amount on your brush, otherwise you will end up flinging it everywhere and wasting it. I just lightly tap the ends of the bristles of my brush into it and then gently, tap, tap, tap, and the foundation/concealer is set for the whole day. Now onto the eyes, I always use an eye primer no matter whether I am wearing a cream shadow over the top, or a powder shadow, as I find that even when they (brands) say that the cream shadows won't crease, they do on my eyelids, so a base is a must, and so this last week, I took a break from using the Lorac Behind The Scenes eye primer, which is taking me forever to use up and began to use my Too Faced Shadow insurance primer.
This is a lot thinner in consistency than the Lorac eye primer, and so it spreads so easily across the whole eye lid. I use this right from the roots of my eyelashes, right to my brow bone, so that each shadow will apply smoothly and evenly. Last week, I really enjoyed using the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze, or if you are in the US it is called Bad To The Bronze. I really do not understand why the UK and the US have to have different names for the entirely same product. With the colour tatto, I just use my ring finger and lightly spread it across the whole eyelid, only going up to the crease. Then to give a little dimension I have just added a touch of extra product in the outer V to darken up the look in that area, and give it a little depth.

For eyeliner, I have been loving a product I recieved in a Glossybox a couple of months ago. It is so black in colour and does not bleed, and lasts a good long time in my waterline, which is what I need with my watery eyes.
I really recommend this eyeliner and will be looking out for other products from this brand, as I am really impressed with how good this eyeliner actually is. Yes, I know I have jumped on the bandwagon with this new Benefit Roller Lash mascara. But I am so glad, that I have, as it is FANTASTIC and I will be writing a review of it very soon. It really gives curl to my lashes which i never get, and it is jet black in colour which I really like in a mascara. I think if you are going to wear mascara, you want to be able to tell that you are wearing it so the darker my lashes the happier I am.
For me, Benefit products are some of my most favourite and one of my favourite products of theirs EVER!!!! is the Dallas blush/bronzer. This product is so very pigmented, that you have to be really careful with how much and where you apply it, as it is only too easy to go overboard and look like you fell into the blush, rather than just give your cheeks a hint of colour. I call it a blush/bronzer because with my colouring it can look a little like both as it definitely has a warmth to it, like a bronzer has, but then it has a beautiful pink/coral undertone like a blush.

I use the Real Techniques stippling brush to apply this to my cheekbones, as it really blends every product beautifully. Last but not least, is one of my most recent Mac acquisitions, the Royal Ball lipstick from the Cinderella collection. This colour is so pretty and so effortless to apply, that I know this will be in my handbag for a good long time.

Don't you just love the packaging too? Simply beautiful. I hope you have enjoyed this Get Ready With Me post, let me know in the comments if you would like me to do more posts like this for you, and I will be happy to oblige.

Till next time.

My Fall Off The "No Buy" Wagon

Yes, I am hanging my head in shame. I should not have purchased these, as I am supposed to be saving my money and working to pay off bills. I did just want the Lush things but then I went onto Ebay and all the rest is history. I lasted with my no spend 7 weeks which in itself is a big thing for me, and I feel quite proud that I managed that long as I am a true shopaholic. I love Lush and really wanted to try their newer products and so when I saw the Hoppity Poppity
I just knew that I had to have it. Look at that little face! It contains Popping Candy, Violet Leaf and Lavender so this will really help me to relax after a stressful day. Then, Bubblegrub popped up and I weakened and added him to my order too.

I must say, when I opened the box, the strong Lush scent was quite overpowering and so hopefully they will make the whole house smell lovely once used. Another item I purchased was a lipstick from Mac's newest Cinderella collection called Royal Ball. I love everything Disney and mac and so this purchase was a no brainer for me. The packaging is stunning. It is pale blue, with gold writing on it, but when you turn the packaging to the light flashes, of pink and purple run through it. Gorgeous, truly. I have ordered the eyeshadow palette from this collection too, and so in a few posts time, I will be talking about it and what the pigmentation is like.
I got the lipstick in the shade "Royal Ball" which is a pale peachy pink shade, and just perfect for everyday wear to work. YouTube is a must for me, and I watch it like other people watch the TV, one of the lovely YouTubers who I love to watch is LisaLisaD1 who always has beautiful make up and clothes and when she showed the gorgeous Burberry eyeshadow quad #02Mocha, I just knew that I had to own it. The colours in this quad are gorgeous wearable shades, and I just love the little velvet pouch that comes with it.
Everyone and their dog has been talking about the new Benefit Rollerlash mascara, I tried to get it with the Elle magazine, as it was a freebie last month, but unfortunately, I missed out and so I had to purchase mine off Ebay and I am very excited to try it out over the next few weeks.

Then last of all I ordered the Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Souffle Body Creme, which I have heard lots of people saying how gorgeous it smelt, and so you know me, I have to try it, and can I just say that they were not wrong. It smells AMAZING. With this product, the lovely seller, even sent a free Bobbi Brown lip gloss, which is gorgeous, a little light for me, but will look lovely when worn over a colour that is maybe a little too dark. They are both really gorgeous products.

So, now you have seen how badly I fell off the wagon. I have come to realise, that I just have to buy something occasionally. Not in the amounts that I was doing, just select products that I really want and have thought about them for a few weeks, before purchasing them. I hope you have enjoyed this post, and let me know if you have been successful on a no buy, or if you are a shopaholic like me.

Love and Hugs

Finish 5 by Cinco De Mayo Update 1 March 2015

Hi everyone. Today I thought I would give you a little update on how my Finish 5 by Cinco De Mayo project is going. I am really pleased to tell you that I have done quite well overall. I totally finished the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation and so that will be in this months empties post. The foundation I have decided to replace it with is the Benefit Hello Flawless. I am about halfway through it, and so going to really try to get this used up by the finish of this project. The Lorac eye primer is just still going strong, and to be honest I have no idea how much is left in the tube as I cannot see through the tube. I would imagine that I am about three quarters of the way through it, but no doubt I will still be saying that this time next month. You definitely get your value for money with this eye primer.

I am so excited with the Origins Night A Mins cream as I have finally hit pan on it. I have had this pot for 15 months and so will be really glad when it is all used up, don't get me wrong it still smells lovely (orange scented) and goes on like a dream, but I still worry it will go bad soon.

I am hoping by the next update this will have been finished and will be in my empties box. So then, I will have to go and purchase another night cream, as this is the only one that I own. I have been wearing the Tanya Burr lipgloss ever since I started this project and I have definitely used quite a bit up. This lipgloss shade is gorgeous and I have really been enjoying wearing it a lot.

The first line on the tube is where I started and the line further to the left is where I am now. So a definite improvement. Another development that happened today was that I totally finished the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume, which is a real accomplishment for me. That means in just one month I have finished completely 2 perfumes, it just shows that products can be used up if you just use them consistently. So I decided that my next perfume that I am going to put into this challenge is a very old perfume by Kylie Minogue called "Sweet Darling". I will admit I have had this in my collection for at least 6 years and it has not gone bad yet, but want to get this one out of my collection as I don't even think they make it anymore.

As you can see by the mark I have put on the bottle, there is a lot of perfume in this and hopefully I can get this finished by Cinco De Mayo. Well that is my update, I am really pleased with how well I have done, and really encourage all of you to see what products you can use by the 5th May. I hope you have enjoyed this post, and let me know in the comments, if you are trying something like this too.

Till next time,
